Introduction:

The College of Fine Arts offers opportunities for training, research and experimentation in the arts, in programs directed by a faculty of practicing professionals and scholars. The college prepares students to be artists and scholars who generate innovative methods and aesthetic concepts, using formal tradition and cultural heritage to interpret and create in contemporary society.

Minimum Requirements for Completion of Bachelor's Degrees:

Fine arts students are subject to general university requirements governing completion of bachelor’s degrees. The college also requires students in all B.F.A. and B.M. degree programs to complete at least 45 units outside of the major department; these units may include general education requirements.

General Education Program:

All undergraduate students are required to complete a common general education program. Designed to provide a foundation for university learning, the program develops students’ creative and analytical skills and integrates knowledge across university disciplines.
