The undergraduate program requires a minor; students may

Minors available within the department are:
The Department of Near Eastern Studies provides programs of study in the
history, cultures, languages, and geography of the geopolitical region of the
world currently referred to as the Middle East or the Near East in antiquity.
The major for the Bachelor of Arts degree requires two years or the
equivalent of Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Akkadian or other appropriate language.
All courses are chosen in consultation with and approved by a departmental
advisor.
