Individual artists' works, critical/theoretical issues, and techniques that are significantly representative of different cultures and societies will be examined, with special consideration of the relationships of the visual arts to other art forms.

Description: This course is designed to acquaint the student with the basic historical, theoretical, and technical aspects of drawing. The objectives are 1) to provide experience in the fundamental skills of perceptual, or representational, drawing; 2) to deepen appreciation of drawing as a means for increasing visual awareness and as a cognitive process; and 3) to develop an understanding of drawing within the context of the visual arts.
