(3 units) Description: Cultural adaptation with emphasis on the systematic interaction of environment, technology, and social organization among hunter-gatherers, nomadic herders, and peasant farmers. This is a Writing Emphasis Course. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E. (3 units) Description: Historical and cultural background, and contemporary economic, political and social organization of indigenous and non-indigenous groups in rural Mexico. Primarily concerned with the people of the countryside, and the Mexican revolution. Grading: Regular grades are awarded for this course: A B C D E.
