The Program:

The Global Change GIDP is administered by the Graduate Interdisciplinary Programs Office.

This program provides interdisciplinary training in the critical issues of global change, from climate change and global warming to desertification and natural resource depletion.  The students are exposed to both the natural science of global processes and to the social science that examines both anthropogenic causes and the impacts of change on human livelihoods. The program fosters a comprehensive understanding of global change and its relationship to social and economic development. Students take three cores courses, including an interdisciplinary workshop, then select from among a menu of electives.

The program offers a Doctor of Philosophy minor
