Departmental InformationGERMAN STUDIES (GER ) The Department of German Studies provides instruction designed to develop fluency in oral and written communication, knowledge of German literature, and insights into German cultural history. A number of opportunities for study and/or work abroad are available, including the department's summer program in Heidelberg. A major in German Studies, by itself or in combination with another field, can open the door to careers in education, international business, the foreign service and many other professions. The degrees available are Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts with a major in German Studies, and Bachelor of Arts in Education and Master of Education with a teaching major in German. |
