Course Description

This course is designed to enhance understanding of the principles of animal nutrition and metabolic biochemistry to explain the nutritional requirement, metabolic, and physiological differences between animal species. As such, this course will focus on the most basic molecules of nutrition (carbohydrates, fats, and amino acids) and their digestion, absorption, metabolism, and assimilation into the body. Therefore, a basic understanding of biology and chemistry are expected upon entering this course.
