Course Description
This course is designed to provide foundations of museum education theory and practice. Students will develop an understanding of the significance of museum education, and study audience characteristics, teaching and learning theory, communication techniques, technology, and evaluation in museum education. Students also gain experience with developing instructional lesson unit in museum settings, working with museum education professionals in the community. Graduate-level requirements include an in-depth research paper or project related to contemporary museum education.
