The art of Colonial Mexico, from the early 16th century to the late 18th century. The effects of the Spanish conquest on native traditions; public, private and sacred patronage; the effects of the Bourbon reforms. Painting, sculpture, architecture, graphic and minor arts. Graduate-level requirements include a critical bibliography as well as a research paper.
