Introduction to the history and theory of connoisseurial methodologies in art collecting, museums, auction houses, and galleries. Course includes fieldwork and workshops designed to make the theory and practice of connoisseurship relevant today to the field of museum. Graduate-level requirements include development of critical and historiographical bibliographics from directed readings on problems in connoisseurship.
