ATMO436A - Weather Fundamentals

Hydrology & Atmospheric SciUndergraduateUA - UA General

Course ID

008945

Course Description

Types of weather and the basic physical fundamentals that govern the formation of that weather are explored in this course. Students will analyze the relationships between temperature and pressure, and subsequently between pressure and wind. In addition, an understanding of the role of water vapor in the atmosphere as it is related to the production of clouds/precipitation, and its impact on storm intensity, will be evaluated. By the end of the course, students will analyze weather and atmospheric-related charts and data to characterize atmospheric conditions as past severe weather events evolved.
