Course Description

Topics in biomedical instrumentation, sensors, physiological measurements, analog and digital signal processing, data acquisition, data reduction, statistical treatment of data, and safety issues. Course includes both lecture and structured laboratory components. Graduate-level requirements include building a biomedical instrument that implements a novel solution to a real-life problem. Examinations for graduate students will include additional essay questions that test ability to formulate creative solutions. Course includes both lecture and structured laboratory components.
