Course Description
This course serves as the weekly group meeting for those who are currently teaching Chemistry laboratory courses, and serves the purpose of maintaining consistency in the delivery of education in chemistry labs. Weekly discussions address how to prepare for lectures, grade lab reports using an established rubric, assess student learning and performance, and how to navigate safety issues relevant to the experiments. Current issues in teaching college-level labs and development of the teaching skills and methods utilized by course participants are also discussed as necessary. Graduate level enrollment requires students to be teaching assistants in the Chemistry Department.
