This course is designed to familiarize students with the fundamental principles and tools used by economic scientists to analyze the personal and family financial issues that affect people's quality of life. Course topics will include an analysis of personal financial information resources the concept of the time-value of money, discussion of personal financial issues concerning the economic environment, financial statements, college planning, career planning, tax, credit, housing, insurance, retirement and estate planning, and investments.
