Course Description
An in-depth exploration of how humans shape and are affected by a broad range of landscapes across the United States. Students will have the opportunity to learn about and apply a variety of methods for studying human-landscape interactions across a great diversity of contexts. These might include: city spaces, suburbs, seascapes, national parklands, agricultural lands, cold war landscapes, borderlands, and others. Graduate-level requirements include the completion of an essay and annotated bibliography on the work of a specific scholar, place, or region.
