Course Description

This course introduces principles and practices of Geovisualization (GV) and software. Through reading and lectures, students will learn about different theories and approaches in GV. The module assignments allow the students to apply theory in practice and learn how to use various software (ex. ArcGIS Pro, Tableau, PowerPoint) to create effective geovisualizations. Students will offer constructive feedback to peers on weekly assignments and every student will have one additional week to update lab assignments and develop visual portfolios of their work. The course will culminate in an open-ended final project where students will use the technical skills and fundamentals in the course and apply it in a geovisualization(s).
