In this course, you will examine creative and intellectual engagements with the German-speaking past, such as political events, cultural artifacts, oral traditions, literary texts, and creative media. In doing so, you will analyze cultural approaches to history and memory, asking not just what collectives and individuals remember or rather forget, but also why and how.
