Course Description

This course explores the Supreme Court of the United States, past and present. It aims to give the student an insider's look at the current practices and procedures of both the litigants who argue cases and the Justices who decide them, while contrasting those practices and procedures with historic approaches. it also examines the role of the Court as an institution, addressing the significant change that the Court has experienced in the last two hundred years in a handful of substantive and procedural areas.
