Course Description
This course is a culminating experience and requirement for MENAS majors. In a weekly seminar students work with mutual support and the guidance of the instructor on the revision of a paper written for a past MENAS course. Students are expected to expand their papers into an 18-20 page research paper that draws on primary sources. Students should choose a paper for this purpose that is strongly connected to their concentration within the major. Students who are concentrating in Language and Culture are expected to utilize some original language source material for their revised papers. The resulting papers will be submitted for evaluation to the instructor
and presented to an audience of students and faculty. Students are also required to submit a 400-500 word reflective essay on their course of study and intellectual development in the MENAS major. Enrollment in this course requires senior standing.
