Course Description

The primary goal will be to give the student a chance to see, study and understand the hormonal participation in normal growth and pubertal development and to understand the basic pathophysiology, evaluation, and therapy of common endocrine disorders of childhood and adolescence. Examples of these disorders include diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, abnormalities of growth, pubertal disorders, adrenal disease such as congenital adrenal hyperplasia and pituitary dysfunction.
