Course Description
Goals: Upon successful completion of this elective, the student will be able to: 1 - perform a competent H-E-A-D-S adolescent assessment, and identify and address an adolescent's high-risk behaviors; 2 - competently perform an adolescent history and physical examination; 3 - be comfortable performing an adolescent pelvic examination, and will be able to offer competent advice to an adolescent concerning sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy prevention; 4 - perform a competent sports medicine examination, and will have an understanding of common sports-related injuries in adolescents and young adults.
