Course Description
The student will obtain a unique insight into the management of chronic disease in children, with the physical and emotional effects that confront them. The student will experience the therapeutic benefits of exercise and wilderness exposure in children, as well as strengthen communication skills with them. The student will develop an appreciation for the daily management and routines necessary for chronically ill patients in a non-medical setting, and participate whenever required. It is expected that the student will accompany campers during visits to the medical facility and triage the issues, if possible for the medical team.
