Course Description

Electronics techniques used in experimental physics. Emphasizes computer aided schematic capture and simulation. Topics include diodes and transistors, op-amps, D/A and A/D conversion, combinatorial logic, sequential logic, programmable logic. Graduate-level requirements include completion of a final project including programmable logic and at least one of the following components in its design: state machine, tri-state logic, memory or FIFOs, arithmetic units.
