Application of quantum field theory to particle physics. The Standard Model of elementary particles and interactions will be introduced and various topics will be covered, including symmetries, quantum gauge theories, quantum chromodynamics, electroweak theory and phenomenology, flavourdynamics, chiral Lagrangian, effective field theory, grand unification and alternatives to the Standard Model.
