Course Description
This course is an introduction to hydroponics--the future of sustainable food production! Learn how to grow plants with less water, fertilizer, and pesticides! This course covers the principles of hydroponics, including systems, substrates, and nutrient solutions. You will also learn how to grow vine crops hydroponically, including propagation, transplant, plant growth and care, pollination, and harvest. Additionally, greenhouse environmental controls and smart CEA (sensors, cloud controls, robotics, and automation) will be covered. This course includes tours of the Controlled Environment Agriculture Center (CEAC) and Biosphere 2 facilities.
