Introduction to theory and research on both normal and altered states of consciousness, from a natural science and cognitive psychology viewpoint. Topics reviewed include philosophical foundations, brain systems and consciousness, introspection, sleep and dreaming, hypnosis, meditation, and psychedelic drugs.
