PsychologyUndergraduateUA - UA General

Course ID

Course Description

What cognitive skills do various animal species share with humans?  Are cognitive similarities across species due to shared genetics or shared environmental demands? Some of the cognitive skills explored in this course include: the ability to generalize beyond specific experiences to a more abstract representation of the world; awareness of self and others; learning to use tools from other members of your species; communication and language; and social structure and morality.  Research on these topics provides new perspectives on what it means to be human.
