Course Description
The student will become familiar with the specialty of child and adolescent psychiatry (CAP), with a focus on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting children, adolescents and their families. Medical students will participate in psychiatric evaluations of children and adolescents in various settings and assigned supplemental educational materials to advance their understanding of the specialty. Students will meet with the elective supervisor periodically throughout the rotation for mentorship and to answer questions related to the field.
