Course Description
The purpose of this course is to further the development of skills and knowledge in interpretation between English and American Sign Language (ASL). Various ASL/English source texts will be used to practice consecutive and simultaneous interpretation. Students will practice producing equivalent interpretations/transliterations through the use of discourse mapping and other strategies. Expansion of English vocabulary will also be stressed.
Students will be expected to apply theory to practice, perform self-assessments of their work, peer reviews and provide interpretations.
