Course Description
This class covers fundamentals of statistical inference and regression analysis, with an emphasis on sociological applications. Topics to be covered include elementary probability and sampling theory; multivariate regression analysis, dummy variables, and interactions; nonlinear relationships; indirect effects and omitted variable bias; diagnostics and remedies for outliers, heteroskedasticity, and multicollinearity. Students will learn to apply these techniques to sociological data using statistical software.
