ENVS200 - Introduction to Soil Science

Environmental Science Undergraduate UA - UA General

Course Description

Soils are vital to terrestrial life on Earth and a critical component of many environmental issues. As the interface between the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere, soils help create a hospitable environment for humans, animals and plants. Consequently, understanding how soils work and how to manage them is key to sustainable environmental stewardship. In this course, we will consider soils as complex systems with unique functions and behaviors arising from soils' interacting chemical, physical and biological components.
