Course Description

Course content varies by semester. Focus topics may include Ottoman Turkish, and other areas in Turkish language, literature, culture, history and society. Graduate-level requirements include an extra project selecting an Ottoman text related to their research interests, and submitting a short paper summarizing their findings, discussing linguistic challenges presented by the text, and containing a translation of part of the text. All projects must be approved by the instructor in advance.
