Course Description
The purpose of this course is to provide New Start Summer Program students with the academic skills, success strategies and resources necessary to navigate the university system. Students will receive a comprehensive orientation in an environment of high expectations, supportive faculty, staff and peers, and a caring community. Additionally, the course will challenge students to begin reflecting on their own academic choices and path to college. The course is designed to cover the following areas: academic skills, effective student management, diversity and multiculturalism, involvement, and health and wellness.
