Course Description
This course will introduce the equipment, techniques and applications of letterpress printing. Students will hand-set type, create photopolymer plates and linocuts, utilize engraving plates and will be encouraged to integrate the tactile quality of letterpressed type and image with other media. Conceptual and material aspects of letterpress and multiples will be discussed. Graduate-level requirements include completing an additional, in-depth, self-directed book project.
