Course ID
034254
Course Description
This intensive course deals with advanced methods in ore deposit mapping. Hydrothermal fluid systems are examined in the context of local to regional structural and magmatic evolution, highlighting how mapping is used to understand mineral zoning, time-space relations, and fundamental phase equilibria. The course includes lectures, mapping exercises, and field trips, plus weekly readings, and class discussions (for the 2nd unit). The student is expected to prepare maps, field notes, cross sections, and reports; and participate in discussions of data collected.
