Course Description
This block will provide you with background knowledge in the core sciences fundamental to an understanding of Medicine: Anatomy, Histology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathology, Immunology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Genetics and Embryology. It will also begin to train you in 'threads' that are critical to a competent practice of Medicine: Evidence in Medicine, Biostatistics, Health and Society, and The Individual and Health. A solid knowledge of the material taught in this block will give you a leg up in every other block. It is a substantial amount of material, and we strongly encourage you to give your best effort to mastering it. We expect that this will be both exciting and challenging. The next section will describe some of the resources that are available to you to help you excel in the block.
