Course Description
The purpose of this elective is to provide medical students with the fundamentals of minimally invasive surgical care. Specifically, medical students at the end of this elective should be able to:
1. Understand principles and techniques of minimally invasive surgery.
2. Observe the use of minimally invasive surgery and how it affects patients in the preoperative and postoperative setting.
3. Participate in minimally invasive surgical cases such as laparoscopy, single incision/port approaches and robotic surgery.
