Course Description
This course introduces future public and nonprofit managers to the goals, tools, techniques, and critical considerations of managing organizations in the emerging digital era. Each week will cover a different aspect of information technology and leading a public or nonprofit organization. Students will engage with the material using a combination of books, online materials, class notes, reflections, and class discussions. In addition, students will gain hands on experience with a variety of technologies in the classroom and online. Lastly, construction of a team-based strategic plan for a public agency or nonprofit that utilizes information technologies for increased effectiveness, efficiency, and equity for the organization.
