Course Description

Exploration of definitions and approaches to arts-based and arts-informed research methodologies applied to education. Arts-based research is based upon the premise that the artistic process offers particular ways of knowing, and that the arts are a primary way of understanding experiences and phenomena. Hence arts-based research involved methods based in art that offer perspectives and understandings not gleaned through other research methods. In this course, you will explore the various definitions and approaches to arts-based and arts-informed research and carry out a research project that utilizes arts-based research as one of its methods.
