Course Description
Students perform laboratory experiments on the following six topics: spectroscopy, acoustics, optics of small particles, geometrical and physical optics, optical interferometry, and vacuum techniques and thermodynamics of gases. The student can do one or all of these in a given semester. Experiments on each topic last one-third of the semester. Graduate-level requirement includes one extra ORIGINAL measurement and writing a separate report on this measurement.
