Course Description
The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery clinical elective has been created to allow medical students to focus a minimum of two weeks on the surgical subspecialty of plastic surgery. The goal is to provide dedicated exposure to the diagnosis and management of adult and pediatric conditions requiring plastic surgical management. These include breast surgery, surgical wound management, congenital issues such as cleft lip and palate, hand surgery and assorted reconstructive problems. Participation with in patient care in the operating room, in the outpatient clinics and emergency room, and on the wards is required.
