Students will explore topics related to nutrition presented in the context of biology. Topics include biochemistry of nutrition digestion, absorption, and metabolism of nutrients. Students will learn the nutritional, metabolic and physiological significance of the digestion of carbohydrates proteins, amino acids, lipids, vitamins, minerals, trace elements and non-nutrient substances
