The neural and cognitive underpinnings of language are examined from the perspective of cognitive neuroscience, integrating findings from patients with language deficits and experimental methods such as functional neuroimaging. Topics include syntax, lexical access, and reading. Graduate-level requirements include gaining a more sophisticated understanding of the course material. Assessment is weighted differently with more length and weight on the final paper.
