Course Description
This one-unit colloquium will explore the rich history of human/plant interactions, beginning with the earliest human efforts to domesticate plants and continuing through the present-day application of the latest genomic technologies in plant breeding. It will focus on the genetic and evolutionary changes accompanying these interactions. It also will assess the current conservation challenges associated with the loss of crop genetic diversity.
