CHEM545 - Laboratory Methods for Organic Chemistry
Course ID
036825
Course Description
The course will provide a substantial training with the methods that are most useful and commonly encountered in organic research laboratories. Students will gain experience using the proper equipment and techniques for carrying out a broad range of organic synthesis reactions, purifications, and characterizations.
Simultaneously, students will gain experience with spectroscopic methods relevant to organic chemistry research from a theoretical perspective and, importantly, by practical application in the laboratory. The skills gained are expected to be broadly applicable to many different areas of graduate research
