Course Description
What happens on Wall Street touches the lives of every person in America, indeed the world. It is all but inevitable that both transactional lawyers and litigators will encounter securities issues at one time or another in their practices. Whether drawn to Wall Street, Washington and international finance, or down on Main Street, the course will prepare students for real world situations, both to recognize and prevent bad things from happening, and to deal with the problems when things have gone wrong. The course will build on the fundamentals provided in the Securities Regulation course, with a more intensive focus on the law and practice at the federal, state and self-regulatory organization levels.
