Course Description
This course surveys human development from conception through age eight and integrates principles of development with early childhood and early grades, kindergarten through third grade, pedagogy. Theories of child development will be discussed, compared, and contrasted. Students will explore how various theories and issues in child development directly and indirectly affect classroom applications such as curriculum decisions, instructional methods, classroom management, and assessment. Active participation in class discussion and activities is required.
