In this course, we consider the important role that marine ecological research has played in our understanding both of ocean life and of the broader field of ecology. We analyze the major issues in ocean conservation, the challenges ahead for humans in maintaining a healthy ocean and planet, and the creative solutions proposed to address those challenges.
