Course Description

This course focuses on the discussion of fundamental principles of organic chemistry as applied to chemical systems of central importance in our world. This course is designed for in-service science teachers who need to develop a deeper understanding of central ideas in organic chemistry. Core topics in the course include organic structure and reactivity as well as a discussion of some key classes of organic molecules that play an important role in our everyday world. This course is designed to be online. The course will be offered as an elective for teachers enrolled in the Natural Science for Teachers M.S. Program offered by the College of Science.
