Course Description
This course is a platform for GWS graduate students to develop as professional scholars. The course consists of workshop sessions that introduce relevant campus resources and cultivate the professional academic skills that help graduate students thrive. Topics include building a CV, participating at conferences, publishing in journals, and applying for fellowships, grants, and jobs. The workshops will often feature guest presenters with relevant expertise.
Students need to actively participate in at least four out of five workshops and submit a final product (such as a CV, a conference panel proposal, a grant/job application) in order to pass this course. Students completing this course will acquire a toolkit of resources, tips, and experiences to be used in every step of their academic careers.
